Engineering Technician – Job Description Santa Rosa, California In this role, the operations technician will be working with a passionate team focused on early phase technology and product development. The operations technician will work closely with engineers to advance the development on an innovative product to reduce the risk of thromboembolic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. He/she is responsible for supporting yield, efficiency, and ergonomic improvements to processing techniques and assembly procedures to ensure cost effective, reliable, and reproducible final product assembly. Description of Work • Build and pack out product using good manufacturing process and clean room protocol • Develop, revise, and document manufacturing processes and fixtures • Setup and perform preventative maintenance of equipment • Create characterization data of incoming parts (e.g. tensile, visual, dimensional specs) • Create 3D simulation models – CAD, 3D printing, silicone molding, assembly • Assist in facility maintenance and organization • Assist in receiving and inspection, solving product problems, testing of new/revised procedures, identifying/fixing tooling or fixtures, design verification testing, fatigue sample setup • Support other departments as needed Required Skills & Experience • Focus that the Company’s products are of the highest level of quality and reliability; creating outputs that document the continual product quality improvements • Knowledge and use of lab equipment, shop equipment, tools, and devices process techniques (laser welding, UV glue bonding, media blasting, lamination) • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, diagrams, flow charts, and mechanical drawings • Good attention to detail and organization • Clear communication, both written and verbal • Competent user of word processing and spreadsheet software • Work well with others • Flexible and adaptable – comfortable working in a dynamic environment • Must be able to work in a controlled cleanroom environment that involves special gowning and hygiene requirements About Laminar Laminar is a clinical stage medical device company advancing transseptal left atrial appendage (LAA) closure. The LAA is a small pouch in the left atrium of the heart that is a major contributor to thromboembolic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. It has developmental, ultra-structural, and physiological characteristics distinct from the left atrium proper.
