Job Description for Solutions Architect - AWS Certified: You will be responsible for deployment and operations of Hortonworks Hadoop infrastructure, Splunk and Tableau instances. You will also be responsible for enabling the migration of Hadoop based applications to AWS Cloud. You will have experience with DevOps methodologies and will be working directly with application developers, guiding the development and implementation of Cloud applications, systems and processes. You will also have experience with deployment and orchestration of Docker containers on a Cloud platform. You will be working in a Big Data / Hadoop environment managing the operations of Data Analytics platform that utilizes Hortonworks Data Platform. You will also be managing the Splunk administration involving setting up indexers, forwarders and managing the flow of data into Splunk. You will be involved in Tableau Server administration and operations. You will use DevOps and agile principles, utilizing Jenkins, Ansible to enable CI / CD of various cloud applications. You will work independently on day to day monitoring and operations of cloud and legacy applications. You will be required to develop automation using scripting languages. After initial training, you will be able to handle critical operation tasks as well as on demand requests. Essential Functions: - Operations and administration of Hortonworks Hadoop platform and framework such as Mapreduce, HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, Pig and Oozie. - Monitoring and support for Stream technologies such as Storm, Kafka and Spark. - Operations and administration of Splunk and Tableau - DevOps CI / CD integration using JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible - Scripting (BASH, Perl, Ruby) and building required automation and tools on an ad-hoc basis. - Creation of AWS JSON templates, Cloudformation, EC2, S3 - Deployment and operations of containers using Docker / Kubernetes - Setup new monitoring and automation of support for various cloud jobs and processes. Required Education & Experience: - B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent with 4+ yrs work experience - Experience in Hadoop Big Data Platform Operations and Administration - Experience in Splunk or Tableau administration would be a huge plus - Knowledge of AWS technologies would be a plus - Knowledge of container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) - Experience with CI / CD using JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible - Strong in UNIX, Linux and SQL. - Experience with any scripting language such as BASH, Perl, Ruby or Python. - Experience in monitoring and supporting large-scale & highly available systems in a 24/7 environment - Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams. - Problem solving skills to develop quick and sound solutions to resolve complex issues. Preferred Education & Experience: - M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent with 6+ yrs experience - 2+ years hands-on experience in administration of multi-node Hortonworks Hadoop platform - 1+ years hands-on experience in administration of Splunk or Tableau - Some experience on AWS technologies: Cloud Formation, EC2, S3, EMR, Autoscale, Cloudwatch - Hands-on experience in development of microservices and deploying in Docker / Kubernetes - Strong in UNIX, Linux and Shell scripting, Perl, PHP, Javascript, JSON, Python - Certification(s): HDP Certified Administrator (HDPCA), or any other Hadoop, Linux Certification
