Print Operator / Graphics & Forms Design / Client Storeroom Assistance / Engraving Support

This is a position within Client Service Co., a subsidiary of Client Corp.

Hours: First shift (8 hours), Monday-Friday, (Flexible start/end times between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.). Occasional overtime as needed.

  • The position is responsible for efficient operation of various electronic duplication equipment, engraving equipment, wide format printers and assorted bindery equipment to produce copies, wide format engineering prints and engraved substation signs.
  • The position is responsible for operating in a highly time sensitive production environment producing often highly sensitive internal presentations, training manuals, corporate forms, variable data communications, and other materials in accordance with Client guidelines.
  • The position is responsible for prioritizing workloads and resources to meet deadlines. Additional responsibilities include providing back-up for other positions (Forms / Graphics / Client Storeroom) advising internal clients on job status, supply ordering ensuring materials and supplies are available, and that a quality product is completed in a timely manner.
  • Quickly learn the Document Production workflow and the Electronic Print and Forms Job Ticket database.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of print production processes, equipment, and related software.
  • Provide quality control oversight.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and leadership abilities as well as solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to continually to learn and grow and deliver strong results.

Responsibilities include:

Forms & Graphics

  • Assist with designing, procuring and distribution of all forms (printed and electronic), envelopes, tags, labels, stationery, business cards, doorhangers, brochures, technical books, union contract books, large-format graphics, billing envelopes and other printed materials.
  • Assist with maintenance of Electronic Forms Database – One, central repository for all business-related forms and other documents used throughout the entire Client system
  • Follow design and procurement standards and procedures to maintain the uniformity of all Client forms
  • Selects appropriate vendor by matching their abilities and capacities with the Client project to maximize cost efficiencies.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate database of forms specifications, adhering to Client forms procedures
  • Ensures adequate stocking levels of all stocked items (over 300 items)
  • Assist with SAP functions such as purchase order maintenance, releases, and vendor payments
  • Assists with maintaining FORMLST database where all Client forms specifications and order history is contained

  • Provide Support to CLIENTclients in creating, revising, managing 3,500 + CLIENTcorporate forms
  • Assist with entering reorders of existing forms
  • Assist with design and manage forms (printed and electronic), specializing in designing Word forms
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign software a plus but not required
  • Assist with daily processing of form requests
  • CLIENTStoreroom Support
  • Assist with the operation of the Stationery Storeroom for storage and distribution of stocked forms for orders received from all regions of Client.
  • Provide back up support for SAP chargeback and SAP accounting.
  • Monitor and manage CLIENTProduction Print Ticketing Application for orders requiring fulfillment.
  • Signs & Engraving
  • Assist with nameplate fabrication to support new Substation construction and existing substation upgrades.
  • Rotary engraving experience preferred. Provide support for nameplate clients utilizing Production Print Ticketing Application to receive work. Work is processed on two (2) Vision 1624 rotary engraving tables attached to controllers. Vision Expert 9 software experience is a plus but not required. Additional tasks include operating tabletop saw to cut plastic materials prior to engraving and operating a bevel machine finish edges on thicker plates. Strong organizational skills required to accurately track time accounting along with tracking final square inches of each request for chargeback purposes

Print Production

  • Proficient with EFI (Electronics for Imaging) Command Workstation Software
  • Proficient with EFI (Electronics for Imaging) Fiery operation
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Software
  • Produce desired output in a timely manner that meets customer's specifications and expectations. Maintaining confidentiality and privacy of clients and information.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and scheduling daily workload to maintain production schedule
  • Reviewing pending job ticket submissions for details such as quantities, production time, stock specifications, etc. Preparing jobs using DRAFT versions, make readies and runs, as necessary
  • Building and monitoring electronic print queues, analyzing file formats, and converting as necessary; facilitating transfer of documents via local network to CWS Fiery workflow and printers; archive as needed
  • Completing work requests and other documentation. Inspecting and examining printed products for clarity, accuracy, quality and conformance to specifications
  • Preparing completed jobs for delivery according to established procedures
  • Performing periodic and routine preventative maintenance
  • Making minor repairs; consulting with vendor field reps to minimize downtime
  • Maintaining adequate materials and supplies during equipment operation
  • Being proficient on all aspects of the Print Production Unit and assist in other production areas, as needed.

  • Proficient in operating HP Page Wide XL 5200
  • Proficient with HP Smart Stream Software is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Software

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 0-3 years’ experience required
  • Experience in a production printing environment preferred. Requires standing for long periods, plus some crouching, kneeling, stretching, and bending while operating equipment and performing routine maintenance
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of moderately heavy items such as paper stock and finished work. Required to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed.
  • Exposure to skin irritations from copier toner, and cuts and bruises to fingers
  • Proficient in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Software
  • A demonstrated ability for discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with completing priorities and deadlines
  • Able to understand and willingness to embrace new technologies
  • Self-motivated to work independently and follow assignments through to completion
  • Good interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work overtime to meet tight deadlines which could include hours outside of normal work hours
