Position Description
Receiving Inspector for our DMT(Document Messaging Technology Center) in Danbury, Connecticut. This is a part time with flexible days/start and end times, day shift Position reporting into the Process Quality Assurance Department, performing inspection on a variety of incoming and In-Process products, parts, kits, materials, and finished product while maintaining and complying to ISO 9000 requirements. Responsibilities: Ability to perform inspections for a wide variety of mechanical parts such as turnings, stampings, plastic, castings, gears etc. as well as visual verification of electrical parts and assemblies such as wiring harnesses, Printed Wiring Assemblies, power supplies, solenoids, line filters etc. Results of inspections / audits will need to be accurately recorded. Must be a self starter with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision, prioritizing work loads and interfacing with a variety of departments and suppliers.
Skills Required
Must have good oral and written communication skills. Be able to maintain accurate records. Be able to follow company procedures. Be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and documented requirements. Use mechanical inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height stands, optical comparator, and thread gages. Perform mechanical inspections from simple checks to first article layouts of complicated parts.
Skills Preferred
Computer skills Knowledge of SAP database a plus.
Experience Required
5 years receiving inspection experience – Mechanical, Electrical, Visual incoming inspection, product audit of business machines.
Experience Preferred
ASQ certifications – Certified Quality Technician, Auditor, or Inspector.
Education Required
Minimum of High school diploma, technical school or college preferred.
