Infrastructure Administrator in Cary, NC

• Create script integrations/utilities (preferably PERL/Python/Bash) utilizing Network Management Platforms (preferably SevOne, SMARTS, AssureNow)
• Perform product updates, upgrades and apply patches to the application and the underlying platform
• Work with different service owners to logically group individual data points into actionable categories
• Proactively identify gaps within the monitoring solution and remediating those gaps
• Work with service owners to filter irrelevant data and alerts
• Design and implement data and systems integrations with Network Management Systems
• Advise on virtualization technologies, interacting with APIs (preferably OpenStack / VMWare)
• Utilize network performance tools detect network performance problems.
• Make changes/update to NMS to reflect the current state of the enterprise IT infrastructure
• Create, integrate, validate, evaluate, and test new or existing JAVA, PHP, and CSS scripts for the network management and monitoring product.
• Work with networking and routing protocols such as TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, SNMP
• B.S. in System Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in a System Engineering discipline.
• 5 years of experience with PERL Scripting
• 3 years of experience using software version control systems such as Subversion/GIT
• Must possess strong Linux/Unix shell scripting skills, Perl, Python, Javascript, REST and/or html programming
• SMARTS or other NMS platform experience a plus.
