Software Application Programmer/Coder in Irving, TX

• In this position SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test), the candidate will be part of major testing transformation initiatives that includes development and execution of automated scripts for Regression & Progression and software modules in a cloud-based environment using the latest technologies in software technologies.
• The candidate will be responsible for assessing existing broken functions in the software development lifecycle and help implement innovative and practical solutions with the zero to minimum manual touches.
• The candidate is expected to be a creative and out of the box thinker and a strong-willed problem solver.

Responsibilities Include:

• Design and development of testing automation scripts for both Regression and Progression purposes in integrated DevOps agile environments using modern state of the art programming languages and software tools
• Partner with ITO Automation, Functional Teams, Development teams, and external vendors to enhance existing testing scripts, identify new test automation techniques, and integrate testing solutions into development processes.
• Execute testing scripts using DevOps tools such as Jenkins for regression and progression testing cycles
• Assist in integrating and help innovate with new ideas for a more streamlined test data management (TDM) processes that meet the needs of testing and development teams.
• Continue learning new technologies, participate in brown bag sessions, promote new open source technologies, and help share the industry's latest technologies in DevOps and testing automation with fellow colleagues and management.
• The candidate will design, test, and implement testing automation solutions for Company’s Consumer and Mass Business ordering, repair, self-serve, and billing applications.
• The candidate may also represent the Integrated Testing Organization in various calls with management, vendors, and partners.
• The recommendations made by the candidate should be both technical, properly documented, and presentable for management decision making.
• Candidate needs to understand the technical and business functions of the projects requested, then plan, design, and implement the solutions while also maintain documentation and source code control for other team members to benefit from as well.
• Develop and implement a set of Microservices to enhance existing TAAS (Test as a service) within the testing organization.
• The candidate will require very little supervision from his or her manager and should be able to make own decisions on obstacles encountered during their development workplace.
• The candidate must be able to multitask and assume complete ownership for all assignments/tasks.
• Candidate must be flexible and capable of functioning in a changing environment.
• The candidate must be able to research the problem encountered in a test automation script that was not development by him or her and should be able to figure out a way to resolve the problem.
• The candidate should be a team player and ensure that his or her decisions are treated positively by team members.

Required Skills:

• Solid SQL skills in Teradata, and Oracle Familiarity with Service Virtualization using LISA.
• Experience working with code builds and automated deployment.
• Experience working in a DevOps agile environment

Education:

• Masters’ Degree in Computer Science
