IT-Senior Software Systems Engineer in

Systems Security Engineer Job Description: The position is for a systems security engineer to support an IT organization responsible for application development of network management and engineering systems. The applicant will work with several application leads within the organization to create software development practices that proactively address security vulnerabilities. He/she will train team members on the security practices, consult on issues and track/enforce compliance. Skillset: • 6+ years information security experience on enterprise systems. • 6+ years senior development expertise in Java/C++. • Experience with Fortify (or similar tool) and its integration in the software development lifecycle. • Experience with both static and dynamic security scanning tools. • Application development experience to integrate security vulnerability testing and coding skills to remediate vulnerabilities. • Strong communication skills both written and verbal including technical writing skills to document security practices with sample code. • Strong leadership skills to work with teams across the organization and at various levels of IT to explain security practices and drive compliance. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Detail oriented, resourceful, motivated and creative; with a positive attitude. Responsibilities: Develop guidelines and procedures for development teams to build and maintain secure code. Integrate the Fortify scanning tool into the automated build/deploy process in Jenkins and develop a process to remediate Fortify vulnerabilities. Educate developers and managers on methods to identify and avoid security vulnerabilities. Work with several application leads within the organization to understand the application architecture and implement security practices into the SDLC. Develop metrics and tracking for adherence to the security practices.
