Scientist I

Duties:

• Performs a variety of routine to complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations.
• Follows validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic direct supervision.
• Revision and compilation of results and data comparison against method acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol and product specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to comply with Client and Quality Operations policies, plant procedures, and GMP and GLP regulations and requirements.
• Perform instrument troubleshooting.
• Preparation and execution of laboratory investigation plans. Write technical reports according to established procedures.
• Participate in technology transfer and validation projects.
• Provide support to laboratory training area.
• Establish and maintain statistical control charts for the Analytical Laboratory.

Qualifications:

List required and preferred qualifications up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science: Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Technology, or Medical Technology.
• Experience: No previous experience as a Scientist is required. At least 3 years of experience in a quality control analytical laboratory are required, including active participation in analytical instrumentation qualification, and method transfer activities.
• Active Learning: understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving.
• Critical Thinking: use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, or approaches to problems.
• Writing: communicating effectively in writing.
• Practical Knowledge: Analytical Instrumentation. Laboratory systems, such as LIMS, and HPLC CDS. How to handle instrument qualification protocols and change requests.

2. Experience in Laboratory Investigation Process for Microbiological and Analytical areas, including environmental, product testing and utilities failures
3. knowledge in monitoring and data analysis. Utilize metrics and statistical concepts to detect process deviations and to design experiments, analyze trends, and report data.
