SQL Cognos Developer in Yeoman, IN

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced SQL Cognos Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development and Cognos BI tools, and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures to support data extraction and reporting requirements.
• Design and create reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos BI suite (Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Framework Manager, etc.).
• Collaborate with business users to understand their reporting and data analysis needs and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
• Conduct data analysis and validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy in reporting.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to BI solutions, including technical specifications and user guides.
• Support and troubleshoot BI solutions, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Work closely with database administrators, data analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and operation of BI solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an SQL Developer with a strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Extensive experience with IBM Cognos BI tools (Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Framework Manager, etc.).
• Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
• Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a similar role within [industry or sector, e.g., healthcare, finance, retail].
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
• Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is an advantage.
