Civil Engineer in Mays Landing, NJ

• Candidate will be responsible for performing civil design calculations for transmission line design.
• This position would be a position in Mays Landing, NJ supporting the ACE Transmission Engineering Team.
• Candidates would be asked to support small relocation projects associated with NJ Department of Transportation, County, municipal road projects and customer requested relocations.
• Candidate would also support, as needed, corrective maintenance work on the 69 kV - 230 kV system in the Atlantic City Electric region.
• Additionally, candidate will be asked to provide estimates and forecasts for customer requested relocations as well as develop high level schedules for the work.
• Make critical design decisions and provide solutions for replacement of failed equipment on emergency basis. Develop estimates for civil design work for new and emergency projects.
• Review work performed by 3rd party. Provide detail design directions to A.E companies.
• Initiate procurement of structural steel for new projects. Review and approve permits drawings and construction drawings and assure that all engineering standards, construction standards and safety codes are met.
• Provide support to construction group during construction phase of the project to assure timely completion of project within defined scope.
• Prepare design drawings for obtaining permits, shall have familiarity with utility best practices, structural steel standards. Be available during system emergencies or weather related incidents. Act as liaison between Architectural Engineering companies.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must have B.S in Civil Engineering or equivalent years of experience in designing transmission line structures/foundations, familiarity with transmission line hardware, and transmission line construction techniques.
• Additionally, candidates shall have PLS-CADD design experience, transmission line structure foundation design knowledge, and be familiar with transmission line design principles.
• Desired Qualifications: B.S in Civil Engineering
