Solutions Architect in Bridgewater, NJ

As a Analytics Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver analytics computing services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, AWS RDS and AWS Redshift) across our team and the business. 

Duties:

• Assist with the installation and configuration of a cloud management platform per the requirements of the respective services
• Assist with the product evaluation, selection and implementation for respective managed services that require 3rd party products to support
• Automation scripting capabilities in one or more scripting languages (Bash/Shell, Python, Ruby, etc.)
• Experience implementing and controlling the flow of data to and from AWS using Informatica Cloud and/or AWS CLI
• ITIL Knowledge (Incident, Change and Problem Management) and experience with tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy)
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing business needs
• Must have a strong technical background and ability to speak to the business in non-technical ways.
• Participate in the software development life cycle to ensure sound Cloud solutions are consistently implemented.
• Proficient with deployment and management of AWS services and network technologies/concepts - including but not limited to: VPC, EBS, EC2, S3, Security Groups, DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Proxies, Cloud Formation
• Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues.
• Serve as senior technical resource to determine the needs of the business that will simplify and automate the applications and services as well as make them more efficient.
• Strong Hands on experience with the AWS CLI and AWS Cloud Formation templates to enable automation
• Technical background in Linux operating systems a plus
• Understanding of Databases including basic SQL skills
• Work closely with our architects and engineers to recommend and design cloud based analytics solutions that effectively reflect our business needs, security, and service level requirements
• Work with application and architecture teams to conduct proof of concept (POC) and implement the design in production environment in AWS
• Work with our current application teams and cross functional global and teams to understand our current applications and make migration recommendations and to-be architectures in AWS
• Work with team to design, build, automate and document a multi-tiered managed services platform
• Write and implement the respective IAM policies as required per the respective services
• Write the required template documents, procedures or guides associate with the respective managed services

Required:

• years extensive enterprise consulting experience, including implementation experience with one or more BI and analytics platforms
• Must have a deep understanding of analytics platforms in a cloud environment on either AWS / Azure
• Individuals with AWS / Azure certifications are preferred
• Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of analytics
• Familiarity with traditional BI and discovery tools (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, RoamBI, etc.
• Must have SIGNIFICANT Big Data experience (Hadoop, EMR, etc.)
• Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, etc)
• Experience with Search engines such as SolR, ElasticSearch and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, HBase, etc.
• Strong understanding of Teradata (MPP) in cloud a plus!
• Multi-year experience in either software, system or enterprise architecture disciplines
• Good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, etc.
• Good understanding of all cloud offerings in the market and ability to discuss cloud architectures
• Good understanding of enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, EAI, ETL environments as well as common EA topics such as process orchestration, BPM, CEP, MDM, BI/BA, etc.
• A good understanding of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications
• Familiar with principles of network, application and information security
